Iron ore prices in China moved upwards slightly during the month of April, shifting from a downtrend in March, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
At the end of April this year, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 239.22 points, up 4.2 points or 1.79 percent compared to the end of March. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index stood at 226.31 points, decreasing by 5.72 points or 2.47 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 241.17 points, increasing by 5.7 points or 2.42 percent month on month.
For the whole of April, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 238.33 points, down 12.17 points or 4.86 percent month on month. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index was at 226.41 points, down by 12.4 points or 5.19 percent, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 240.13 points, declining by 12.13 points or 4.81 percent, both month on month.
