CISA: Iron ore prices in China continue to rise during February

Iron ore prices in China continued to move upwards during the month of February, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

At the end of February this year, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 273.65 points, up 16.86 points or 6.57 percent compared to the end of January. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index stood at 243.1 points, increasing by 5.16 points or 2.17 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 278.27 points, rising by 18.63 points or 7.18 percent month on month.

For the whole of February, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 265.63 points, up 1.78 points or 0.67 percent month on month. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index was at 238.72 points, increasing by 0.45 points or 0.19 percent, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 269.70 points, rising by 1.99 points or 0.74 percent, both month on month.
