CISA: Chinese steel enterprises see reduced profitability in April

Based on the latest data from the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), in April this year the aggregate gross profit of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China totaled only RMB 1.79 billion ($284.13 million), down from RMB 2.084 billion ($330.79 million) in March and declining by 96.65 percent year on year. In April, the aggregate gross loss of the 17 loss-incurring enterprises among the enterprises in question totaled RMB 1.96 billion ($311.11 million).

In April, large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China achieved a total sales revenue of RMB 316.66 billion ($50.26 billion), decreasing by 0.8 percent year on year.
