Chongqing Steel’s finished steel output up 30.45% in March

On April 2, Chongqing Iron and Steel (Group) Co. announced that in March this year its subsidiary Chongqing-based Chinese steelmaker Chongqing Iron and Steel Co. (Chongqing Steel) produced 534,200 mt of finished steel, up 30.45 percent year on year. In the first quarter of the year, Chongqing Steel’s output of finished steel amounted to 1.4279 million mt, up 14.88 percent on year-on-year basis.
 
In March last year, the finished steel output of Chongqing Steel had totaled 409,500 mt, down 15.4 percent, while in the first quarter last year the company produced 1.243 million mt of finished steel, decreasing by 14.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
