Chinese steel industry fixed-asset investment up six percent in 2010

According to the Chinese National Bureau of Statistics, fixed-asset investment in domestic iron and steel production and steel processing in 2010 amounted to RMB 346.50 billion ($52.7billion), up 6.1 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, fixed-asset investment in the domestic mining sector was driven up by the rising price of iron ore, with the investment total coming to RMB 106.62 billion ($16.23 billion) last year, up 26.4 percent year on year.
