Chinese rebar and wire rod exports decrease in July

According to detailed statistics issued by Chinese customs, China exported 1.56 million metric tons of rebars and wire rods in July. The quantity has decreased around 320,000 metric tons or 17 percent from the previous month. Nevertheless, it is still 697,000 metric tons or 80 percent higher than that in July 2006.

With the July figures, the total rebar and wire rod exports from January to July reached 11.47 million metric tons, up 110.5 percent from the same period of last year.

On the other hand, rebar and wire rod imports increased to 92,604 metric tons in July, from 72,491 in June and from 89,468 metric tons in July 2006.

Total rebar and wire rod imports in the first seven months reached 562,376 metric tons, up 4.63 percent year on year.
