China’s coal exports increase by 57.3 percent in January-April

In the January-April period this year, China exported 2.327 million mt of coal, increasing by 57.3 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities. In the same period, China imported 99.926 million mt of coal, rising by 1.7 percent year on year. 

In April alone, China exported 503,000 mt of coal, down 1.6 percent year on year, while it imported 25.299 million mt of coal, increasing by 13.5 percent year on year. LEAD:
