In August this year, China's producer price index (PPI) decreased by 5.9 percent year on year and was down 0.8 percent month on month, according to data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on September 10. Meanwhile, in August Chinese industrial producers' purchase prices were down 6.6 percent year on year and decreased by 0.7 percent compared to July.
In the January-August period of the current year, China's producer price index (PPI) decreased by 4.9 percent year on year, while Chinese industrial producers' purchase prices were down 5.7 percent year on year.
In August, the PPI for capital goods decreased by 7.7 percent year on year. In the same month the PPI for the domestic raw material industry was down 11.1 percent year on year while the index for the processing industry declined by 4.9 percent year on year.
