China’s steel sheet/plate exports totaled 14.6 million mt in the January-March period this year, down 16.3 percent year on year, 1.8 percentage points faster than the declining pace recorded in the first two months this year, according to the Chinese customs authorities.
Major export destinations for China’s flat steel products, including the EU, South Korea and Vietnam, have increased trade barriers, exerting a negative impact on China’s steel sheet/plate exports in the first three months.
In March alone, China’s steel sheet/plate exports amounted to 5.28 million mt, down 19.1 percent year on year.
