China’s steel plate imports rise by 12.7 percent in October

In October this year, China’s import volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate, and steel pipes and hollow sections amounted to 90,000 mt, 30,000 mt, 900,000 mt, and 40,000 mt, up 11.2 percent, 24.1 percent, 12.7 percent and 20.2 percent, respectively, year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities.
 
In the January-October period of the current year, China’s import volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, steel plate, and steel pipes and hollow sections amounted to 980,000 mt, 270,000 mt, 9.17 million mt, and 320,000 mt, up 10.4 percent, down 11.8 percent, up 1.9 percent and rising by 1.4 percent, respectively, year on year.
