China’s steel bar exports down 15.7 percent in January-May

In the January-May period of this year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels and steel wire rod amounted to 4.86 million mt, 1.41 million mt and 850,000 mt, down 15.7 percent, 2.9 percent and 0.1 percent year on year respectively, while steel plate exports amounted to 17.47 million mt, up 7.9 percent year on year, according to the Chinese customs authorities.

In the January-May period, China exported 29.093 million mt of finished steel, up 2.5 percent year on year, as previously reported by SteelOrbis.
