China’s retail sales of consumer goods up 9.7 percent in January-April

In the first four months of the current year, China’s total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to RMB 11.8817 trillion ($1.87 trillion), up 9.7 percent year on year, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on May 15. In April alone, China’s total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to RMB 2.8542 trillion ($0.45 trillion), up 9.4 percent year on year.

In particular, in the first four months, total automotive vehicle sales in China reached a value of RMB 1.2472 trillion ($0.2 trillion), increasing by 6.4 percent year on year.
