China's PPI increases by 0.1 percent in January

In January this year, China's producer price index (PPI) increased by 0.1 percent year on year and was down 0.6 percent month on month, according to data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on February 15. Meanwhile, in January Chinese industrial producers' purchase prices were up 0.2 percent year on year and down 0.9 percent compared to December.

In January this year, the PPI for capital goods decreased by 0.1 percent year on year. Specifically, in January the PPI for the domestic raw material industry was down 1.6 percent, while the index for the processing industry rose by 0.3 percent, both year on year.
