In April this year, China produced 81,000 new energy vehicles, up 117.7 percent year on year, including 64,000 pure electric passenger cars and 17,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, rising by 111.5 percent and 143.4 percent year on year, respectively, according to the latest data issued by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In the January-April period of the current year, China’s new energy vehicle output amounted to 232,000 units, up 142.4 percent on year-on-year basis, including 172,000 pure electric passenger cars, rising by 120.6 percent, and 59,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, up 239.6 percent year on year, respectively.
