In May this year, China produced 96,000 new energy vehicles, up 85.6 percent year on year, including 77,000 pure electric passenger cars and 19,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, rising by 75.9 percent and 138.8 percent year on year, respectively, according to the latest data issued by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In the January-May period of the current year, China’s new energy vehicle output amounted to 328,000 units, up 122.9 percent on year-on-year basis, including 250,000 pure electric passenger cars, rising by 105.1 percent, and 79,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, up 207.3 percent year on year, respectively.
