In the January-February period this year, China’s hot rolled coil (HRC) production amounted to 31.763 million mt, up 11.4 percent year on year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In the same period, China’s cold rolled coil (CRC) production came to 4.993 million mt, down 16.9 percent year on year.

In the first two months of the year, HRC prices generally moved up due to expected good demand from downstream users and the prevailing bullish sentiments among market players. As for March, HRC prices are anticipated to rise further due to good demand in the traditional peak season.
