China’s finished steel exports decrease by 27 percent in Jan-Feb

In the January-February period this year, China exported 7.811 million mt of finished steel, down 27.0 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on March 7. The Chinese New Year holiday and the extension of the holiday due to the coronavirus exerted a negative impact on steel exports during the period in question.

China imported 2.041 million mt of finished steel during the January-February period of the current year, increasing by 2.1 percent year on year.
