China’s steel sheet/plate exports totaled 12.91 million mt in the January-April period of the year, down 8.2 percent year on year, according to the Chinese customs authorities.

In April alone, China exported 4.07 million mt of steel sheet/plate, up 5.1 percent year on year.

The declining pace slowed down for steel sheet/plate export in the first four months of the year compared to the year-on-year decline of 13.3 recorded in the first quarter of the year, while the coronavirus pandemic worldwide still negatively affected the demand for steel sheet/plate in the global market.
