‘China’s crude steel output to reach 332 million tons’

China's crude steel output is expected to hit 332 million tons this year, surpassing 2004's production by 60 million tons, according to officials at the China Iron and Steel Association. China's crude steel output rose 28.3 percent year on year to 164.86 million tons in the first six months of the year. Furthermore, pig iron output increased 33.1 percent year on year to 154.99 million tons in the first half, while finished steel output rose 25.9 percent to 173.11 million tons.
