China’s coking coal imports increase by 25.1 percent in January-May 2026

In the January-May period this year, China imported 54.696 million mt of coking coal, up 25.1 percent year on year, according to China’s customs authorities.

In May this year, China imported 11.145 million mt of coking coal, up 50.9 percent year on year, while down 1.4 percent month on month.
