China’s coking coal imports down 28.5% percent in Oct from Sept

China imported 5.7 million mt of coking coal in October this year, down 28.5 percent compared to the volume in September and down 6.3 percent year on year, according to the monthly statistics issued by Chinese customs. The reduction has been attributed to import restrictions at some ports in China.

In the January-October period this year, China imported 66.63 million mt of coking coal, up 17.1 percent year on year, 2.8 percentage points lower than the growth rate recorded in the January-September period.
