China’s coke output increases by 3.8 percent in Q1

In the January-March period this year, China’s coke output reached 120.29 million mt, up 3.8 percent year on year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In the given period, China’s raw coal output amounted to 1.15 billion mt, rising by 5.5 percent year on year, 0.3 percentage points slower compared to the increase recorded in the January-February period. 

In the first three months this year, China imported 41.17 million mt of coal, up 150.7 percent year on year.   

In March alone, China’s coke output and raw coal outputs totaled 41.78 million mt and 417.22 million mt, up 3.1 percent and 4.3 percent, year on year, respectively.
