China’s coal output rises by 4.7 percent in 2021

In 2021, China’s raw coal output amounted to 4.07 billion mt, rising by 4.7 percent year on year, while increasing by 5.6 percent compared to 2019, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In December alone, China’s raw coal output reached 380 million mt, up 7.2 percent year on year, 2.6 percentage points faster than the increase in November, while up 10.7 percent compared to the same month in 2019.

In 2021, China imported 320 million mt of coal, up 6.6 percent year on year.
