China Baowu Group’s crude steel output totals 65.39 million mt in 2017

Major Chinese steelmaker Baowu Group’s crude steel output amounted to 65.39 million mt in 2017, while Hebei-based steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group (HBIS) produced 44.06 million mt of crude steel and Jiangsu Province-based Shagang Group’s crude steel output totaled 38.35 million mt in the given year, as reported by local Chinese media.

The crude steel outputs of the next seven biggest Chinese steelmakers, Liaoning-based Ansteel Group, Beijing-based Shougang Iron and Steel Group (Shougang Group), Shandong Steel Group, Beijing-based Jianlong Group, Hunan-based Hunan Valin Iron & Steel Group, Anhui-based Magang Group Holding Co., Ltd (Magang Group) and Liaoning-based Benxi Iron and Steel (Group) Co. (Bengang Group), amounted to 34.22 million mt, 27.63 million mt, 21.68 million mt, 20.26 million mt, 20.15 million mt, 19.71 million mt and 15.77 million mt, respectively, in 2017.

The crude steel output of the top ten steelmakers in China totaled 307 million mt, up 7.0 percent year on year.
