Chengde Steel to supply quake-resistant rebar for Tianjin project

Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group has announced that its subsidiary Chengde Iron and Steel Company (Chengde Steel) has won a contract to supply high-strength earthquake-resistant HRB 500 rebar for construction of a shopping center in Konggang Economic Zone in Binhai New Area of the eastern Chinese city of Tianjin.

The project belongs to the Philippines' largest retailer SM Group. Within the scope of the contract, Chengde Steel will supply 17,200 mt of 8-36 mm rebar.
