Changjiang Steel commissions its converter No. 2

Anhui Province-based Chinese steelmaker Changjiang Iron and Steel Co., a subsidiary of Ma’anshan Iron and Steel Co. (Masteel), has commissioned its new converter No. 2, as announced by Beijing-headquartered Chinese state-owned enterprise China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC). Work on the project was carried out by MCC subsidiary, Anhui-based Huatian Engineering & Technology Corporation, MCC. Billet was successfully produced from the molten steel produced by the converter No. 2.
 
Changjiang Steel’s annual outputs of molten steel and billet from its converter No. 2 project will reach 1.237 million mt and 1.2 million mt respectively, while its overall annual production of continuous cast billets will now total 2.4 million mt.
