CADA: Auto dealer inventory alert index in China at 55 percent in March

The auto dealer inventory alert index stood at 55.3 percent in March, down 8.3 percentage points compared to February, while rising by 3.2 percentage points year on year, as announced by the China Automobile Dealers Association (CADA). The auto dealer inventory alert index has consistently exceeded 50.0 percent since January 2018.

Although VAT reductions came into effect as of April 1, retail prices of automobiles have not yet been reduced as in 2018 automobile prices had indicated downward corrections, CADA stated.
