In 2017, the output of passenger vehicles in China totaled 24.807 million units, rising by 1.6 percent, while sales of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 24.718 million units, up 1.4 percent, both year on year, with these growth rates both declining by 1.6 percentage points compared to 2016, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In December alone, the output of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 2.6097 million units, decreasing by 2.23 percent month on month and down 1.3 percent year on year, while the sales volume of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 2.6533 million units, increasing by 2.46 percent month on month and decreasing by 0.71 percent year on year.
As for commercial vehicles, in 2017 domestic output of commercial vehicles totaled 4.209 million units, up 13.8 percent, with sales amounting to 4.161 million units, rising 14.0 percent, both year on year, with these respective growth rates 5.8 percentage points and 8.2 percentage points higher than 2016.
In December alone, the output and sales of commercial vehicles in China totaled 431,800 units and 407,000 units, up 5.0 percent and 10.56 percent month on month, while rising by 3.11 percent and 5.7 percent year on year, respectively.
