Brazil’s iron ore exports up 24.6 percent in Feb over Jan

Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 22.65 million mt in February, rising 24.6 percent compared to January this year and decreasing by 2.7 percent compared to the same month of 2011, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in February this year increased by 19.2 percent compared to the previous month and fell by 20 percent compared to the same month of 2011, totaling $2.2 billion.

In February of the current year, Brazil's iron and steel export volume amounted to 776,800 mt, increasing 19.9 percent compared to the previous month and up 70 percent compared to the same month of 2011, while these exports were valued at $474.8 million, with an increase of 21 percent compared to January and up 88.7 percent year on year.
