Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 32.65 million mt in October, rising 18 percent compared to September this year and up by 17.4 percent compared to the same month of 2011, according to the preliminary information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in October this year rose 8.6 percent compared to the previous month and fell by 30.4 percent compared to the same month of 2011, totaling $2.6 billion.
In October of the current year, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 449,438 mt, decreasing 5.5 percent compared to the previous month and up 7.4 percent compared to the same month of 2011, while these exports were valued at $242.6 million, decreasing 10.2 percent compared to September and down 14.5 percent year on year.
