Brazil's iron ore exports down by 14.1 percent in February

Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 25.73 million mt in February this year, decreasing 14.1 compared to the same month of 2016, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore exports in February totaled $1.47 billion in value, increasing 114.3 percent year on year. 
 
In February, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 822,605 mt, up by 26.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $309.2 million, increasing by 82.5 percent year on year.
                                              
Meanwhile, in February Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 218,851 metric tons, down by 31.9 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $142.79 million, growing by six percent from the February 2016 level.
