Brazil’s hot rolled coil exports increases in 2014

According to Brazil's ministry of development, industry and foreign trade, the Brazilian exports of hot rolled coils amounted to 1.13 million mt in 2014, up 69 percent compared to 2013.

The main exporters were ArcelorMittal Tubarao (up 30 percent to 572,200 mt), Usiminas Cosipa (up 47 percent to 333,000 mt) and CSN (224,800 mt against only 147 mt in 2013), while the main destinations were Latin America (346,400 mt), the US (299,000 mt), Europe (238,000 mt) and Asia (237,000 mt).

Meanwhile, the exports of the product in December reached 180,100 mt, down five percent compared to November, with exports by CSN reduced by 20 percent to 66,800 mt, by ArcelorMittal Tubarao reduced by 24 percent to 58,600 mt and by Usiminas Cosipa increased by 91 percent to 54,700 mt.

The main destinations of the hot rolled coils in December were the US (65,600 mt), Latin America (38,400 mt), the EU (37,200 mt) and Asia (29,700 mt).
