Brazilian billet exports up in August

Brazilian billet exports in August rose 25.3 percent, year-on-year, to 12,336 mt, according to figures released by the nation's development, industry and foreign trade ministry (MDIC).

Despite the year-on-year increase, billet exports fell by 84.5 percent, month-on-month, from 79,805 mt in July, the highest export rate seen so far in the year.

Brazilian export revenues in August totaled $5.1 million, 5.5 percent down year-on-year, from $5.4 million in 2014, and 82.1 percent lower when compared to the revenue figures seen the month prior.
