Brazilian wire rod exports increase in June

Wire rod exports from Brazil reached 25,100 mt in June, against 13,600 mt in May, according to customs data.

The exports in June were from ArcelorMittal (15,300 mt at $814/mt), Gerdau (9,200 mt at $784/mt) and Simec (600 mt at $995/mt), FOB conditions.

The destinations were South American countries (14,800 mt at $775/mt), the US (7,900 mt at $899/mt) and the Dominican Republic (2,400 mt at $705/mt), while a small volume was shipped to Costa Rica.

Meanwhile, Brazil imported 16,000 mt of wire rod in June, against 15,700 mt in May.

The imports were from China (7,400 mt at $622/mt), Russia (7,300 mt at $619/mt) and Germany (1,300 mt at $1,021/mt), also FOB conditions.
