Brazilian steelmakers post strong exports

Brazilian flat steel producers Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) and Usiminas posted year-on-year increase in their export revenues during the first four months of this year. In January-April 2006 period, CSN's exports amounted to $284 million, an increase of 60 percent from a year earlier. Usiminas' exports rose 161 percent year on year to $197 million during the same period.
