BMZ to raise pipe production

Belarusian Iron and Steel Works (BMZ), after mastering production of HR seamless pipes in July of 2007, will start to work on expanding variety of that product, said the Prime Minister of Belarus Sergey Sidorskiy. Mr. Sidorskiy said that BMZ plans to develop the technology of production of pipes with polymeric and other coatings. Thanks to technological innovations outlined in the project, BMZ would be able to produce HR seamless pipes of different types in diameter of 30-167mm. New products are planned to be used in oil, construction and other industries. BMZ estimates to produce about 250,000 tons of the pipes per year, majority of which would be exported to Asian-Pacific Ocean Region, East Europe, Middle Asia, and the Middle East.
