BMZ continues major modernization program

Belarus-based steel producer Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ) has reported that in 2015 the largest modernization in the company's history enters its final phase. BMZ plans to complete the works at four important facilities. In 2014, basic capital investments of Byelorussian Steel Works amounted to BYR 3,717 trillion (0.25 billion).
In 2015, one of the most important projects of BMZ is the "Organization of rolling production with construction of light section mill". At present, the project and construction works have been finished, the erection of equipment and commissioning with participation of foreign contractors are in progress. Basic capital nvestments amounted to €342.1 million (388.1 million) from the beginning of project realization as of  February 1, 2015.

The imbalance between the production capacity of arc furnaces and continuous casting machines in the melting shops will be eliminated with the commissioning of the Increase of  production capacity of secondary metallurgy at the steel melting shop No. 2.

The reconstruction of de-dusting plant No. 3 will allow the enterprise to reduce the ecological load on the environment.

BMZ and some strategic partners have founded the joint enterprise "BMZ-GKC" to realize the investment project entitled "Construction of air separation plant No. 3". At present, the building and assembly works are in the final phase at this facility.
