Birmingham Fastener to upgrade HQ
Later this year Birmingham Fastener will move to its new headquarters in nearby Ensley, Alabama where it will add more 100000 square feet (9'290 square meters) to its operations. The company manufactures bolts and fasteners such as those typically found in road and bridge construction as well as those used to hold steel pipe together. The company is located in two buildings near the Birmingham International Airport. CEO Joe Phifer said that current location size is starting grow tight and being spread across two facilities is simply not an efficient way to conduct business. Its new headquarters will feature amenities such as a 20 ton crane, 10000 square feet (929 square meters) of office space, and convenient access to several prominent area roadways. Birmingham purchased the land for $1.4 million and will reportedly spend up to $750000 more getting the property ready. The company hopes that it will be at least partially operational in its new building by October when it celebrates its 25th anniversary.Birmingham Fastener to upgrade HQ
