Bhushan Steel commissions galvanized steel plant

Bhushan Steel and Strips Ltd (BSSL), India's third largest cold rolled steel producer, has recently commissioned the country's largest pre-painted galvanized steel plant at Khapoli, Maharashtra. The new plant, which will use the latest technology in production, will have an annual production capacity of 120'000 tons. However, the plant will initially operate at 80% capacity and will produce 8'000 tons monthly. BSSL officials stated that the company already has some orders from Europe, the Middle East and Latin America for the products of the pre-painted galvanized steel plant to be exported in the first three months of 2005.
