BHP Billiton reports record iron ore production
According to the report released by Australian mining company BHP Billiton, the company's iron ore production in the quarter ended on September 30, 2004 increased to 22.5 million tons, up by 8% against the figure recorded in the same period of previous year. Moreover, the figure indicates an increase of 10% against the previous quarter. The increase in iron ore production reflects the capacity expansion project carried out in Mining Area C in Australia. Nickel production in the subject quarter was recorded as 19'600 tons, down by 5% from the figure recorded in the corresponding period of previous year due to heavy rain.BHP Billiton reports record iron ore production
