Belarus-based BMZ expands presence in EU wire rod market

In the January-September period of the current year, Belarus-based Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ) produced about 650,000 mt of wire rod, according to the company’s official statement. In particular, the company exported more than 200,000 mt of wire rod to the EU in the given period, increasing its shipments to this region by 22 percent year on year. The key destinations were Poland, Romania, Italy and the Netherlands, with consumers mostly involved in the production of fasteners, dampers springs for the automotive industry, fasteners for railways, and furniture springs. 

In terms of value, BMZ’s total wire rod export shipments in the January-September period amounted to $123 million, with sales to 23 countries worldwide.
