Inner Mongolia-based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Steel has received an order from Saudi Arabia for R 260 and R 350 HT steel rails made to EN standard - products which the mill has only very recently succeeded in developing.

Baotou Steel states that it has been focusing on expanding its export markets in recent years, while simultaneously satisfying domestic demand. The steelmaker has now developed steel rails in accordance with US, Japanese, EN and IRCA (International Railway Congress Association) standards.
