Baosteel to increase HR production

Chinese steel producer Baosteel this year plans to both increase its hot rolled steel production to 9.3 million tons and improve the quality of its products. The production increase and quality improvement will be achieved through technology upgrades and cost reduction. Baosteel produced 21.38 million tons of steel in 2004 while increasing its market share in high-tech and value-added steel production.
