Baosteel inks cooperation agreement with Tianwei Group

On January 21, major Chinese steelmaker Baosteel announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hebei Province-based Baoding Tianwei Group Co., a major enterprise focused on power transmission and energy in China. Baoding Tianwei Group has the world's only fully automatic digital control production line for oil channel transposed conductors.
 
Meanwhile, Baosteel also announced that its subsidiary Meishan Mining has revised its production plans for 2013-2018. Accordingly, by 2018 Meishan Mining's annual outputs of raw iron ore and iron ore concentrate are expected to reach 5 million mt and 3.6 million mt respectively. Currently, Meishan Mining has over 100 million mt of iron ore reserves, while its annual processing capacity stands at 4 million mt.
