Baosteel completes delivery of 87,000 mt of line pipe to CNOOC

Shanghai-based Chinese steel giant Baosteel has announced that, with the delivery of a final batch of welded pipe, it has completed its total supply of 87,000 mt of line pipe to China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) for the 3-1 gas area of Li Bay in the South China Sea and for CNOOC’s natural gas pipeline project in Guangdong Province. The line pipe supplied includes deep-sea seamless pipe, high-frequency welded pipe (HFW pipe) and UOE pipe.
 
The 3-1 gas area of Li Bay in the South China Sea is a key project in China, with the total length of pipeline exceeding 300 kilometers.
 
The X65 seamless pipe produced by Baosteel will be used at a sea depth of 1,500 m, while the 30 inch diameter welded pipe will be applied at a depth of 200 m. The 56 inch welded pipe supplied by Baosteel is the largest diameter welded pipe in China.
