In early February (February 1-10) this year, the average price in China of coking coal was recorded at RMB 1,180.0/mt ($186.4/mt), remaining stable, while the average price of second-grade metallurgical coke was recorded at RMB 1,818.6/mt ($287.2/mt), down RMB 126.2/mt ($19.9/mt), i.e., decreasing by 6.5 percent, both compared to prices in late January (January 21-31), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
