Australian iron ore producer Atlas Iron has announced the signing of a long-term off-take agreement with a medium-sized Chinese steel mill, for the sale of 30 percent of iron ore produced at its Pardoo Project in the Pilbara region, Western Australia.

The agreement in question with the Chinese mill, the name of which has not been disclosed, will run until March 2012, with the first shipment expected to be completed by the end of March 2009.

Atlas Iron expects in the short term to complete and disclose further contracts, as it is currently carrying on off-take negotiations for the balance of the Pardoo iron ore.
