The Australian Ministry for Industry, Innovation and Science has announced that the Australian government has initiated the development of the second stage of its antidumping reforms with the commissioning of a report on the impact of Asian steelmakers in the Australian market.

Accordingly, Australia’s Antidumping Commission will prepare a report which will identify trends in dumping and circumvention behavior in Asian steel, identify existing dumping duties across all steel and make recommendations on the most effective measures where there is evidence of these activities. The findings of the report, expected to be delivered in early April, will inform the next tranche of antidumping reforms.

Christopher Pyne, the Australian minister for industry, innovation and science, stated that they will also welcome feedback and ideas from Australian industry groups, manufacturers and producers over the coming months.
