Australia’s Antidumping Commission has announced it has decided to continue collecting the antidumping (AD) duties and countervailing duties (CVD) on hollow structural sections (HSS) exported to Australia from China, South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan, following the expiry review initiated in October 2016. The AD and CVD measures are due to expire on July 2 this year.

The expiry review was initiated upon a complaint by the Australian steelmaker Austube Mills Pty Ltd and Orrcon Manufacturing Pty Ltd alleging that if the current measures expire, material injury to the Australian industry would recur.

The current antidumping duties are being applied to all exporters of the certain hollow structural sections from China, South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan and the countervailing duties are applied to all exporters from China except Dalian Steelforce Hi-Tech Co. Ltd. (Dalian), Huludao City Steel Pipe Industrial Co. Ltd and Qingdao Xianxing Steel Pipe Co. Ltd.

The goods in question are classified under item numbers 7306.30.00, 7306.61.00, 7306.61.00, 7306.69.00 and 7306.50.00.
