Argentina’s crude steel output up in March

Argentina's steel office CIS disclosed that the country's crude steel production rose 11% year on year to 465'900 tons in March. In the first three months of 2005, crude steel production rose 7.6% year on year. Furthermore, Argentina's primary iron ore production amounted to 386'100 tons in March, up 13% from a year earlier. Year-to-date production saw a year-on-year increase of 5.7%. Total production of hot rolled steel reached 423'500 tons in March, an increase of 4.1% year on year, while cold rolled steel production amounted to 127'800 tons, an increase of 1.2%.
